There’s no other show on WDAV-FM quite like this. Sure, it’s all classical music – liberally defined. Beyond that, it defies definition. Except for this: “This is the music that floats my boat,” the host tells his listeners. “I hope you’ll like it, too.”

CSO Set To Reach 3-Year Broadcast Agreement with WDAV
Today WDAV Classical Public Radio and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announced an unprecedented three-year agreement to bring the area’s largest professional orchestra to the airwaves. Beginning with the 2010-11 season, WDAV will produce and broadcast seven of the CSO’s classical concerts each season through 2013. The agreement, forged among WDAV, CSO management, CSO musician representatives, and Local 342 of the American Federation of Musicians, is pending ratification by the full membership of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

One year ago, WDAV”s Sunday morning show, Biscuits & Bach was born. And on March 21, 2010, WDAV will celebrate both anniversaries by hosting a Biscuit Party during its Spring 2010 On-Air Membership Campaign. Listeners are invited to drop by the station this Sunday from 8 to11 a.m., enjoy a free fresh-baked biscuit, listen to live Bach performances and watch station staff and volunteers as they conduct the campaign.
WDAV Launches Radio Chopin™
Today, the world marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin, often called the “poet of the piano.” In a year-long celebration of the anniversary, WDAV announces the launch of Radio Chopin: 200 stories for the 200 years of Fryderyk Chopin. Each two-minute story recounts the people, places and particulars behind the composer and his timeless works.
WDAV to Produce NPR World of Opera
WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio announced today that as of January 18, 2010, the station will take over production of National Public Radio’s World of Opera, keeping in place NPR’s successful creative team of host Lisa Simeone and producer Bruce Scott. WDAV General Manager Benjamin K. Roe is the new executive producer. The show will continue to be marketed and distributed by NPR.
