This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Boston Pops – the granddaddy of America’s popular orchestras.
WDAV Debuts “OpenAir Brevard” Sunday, June 27 at 3 P.M.
Posted June 23, 2010 – Music fans looking for a respite from the heat this summer can tune to WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio each Sunday at 3 P.M. for some high country (and high culture) relief! WDAV continues its summer music festival coverage with OpenAir Brevard, a new weekly concert broadcast series from the 74th season of the renowned Brevard Music Festival in Western North Carolina. The 7-week series begins this Sunday, June 27, at 3 P.M. with a live broadcast direct from Brevard’s historic Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium.
Brevard Music Center Reopens Search for New President
(Brevard, NC ) – John Candler, President and CEO of Brevard Music Center, has announced his upcoming retirement. He will continue to serve as president until the search for his replacement is successfully concluded and the position is filled. Candler joined the Music Center’s governing board in 1981 and has served as the Center’s first president with great distinction since 1993.
